Japanese Tank Destroyers Type 3 Ho-Ni III
Type 3 Ho-Ni III was the third Japanese attempt to build a tank destroyer / SPG. As Ho-Ni I and II, Ho-Ni III was based on chassis of Type 97 Chi-Ha medium tank too. The main feature of Ho-NI III was the fully enclosed and armored casement. Inside the casement a 75mm Type 90 gun was installed (traverse 22° to each side and elevation -15°/+25°). This Type 90 was based on French Schneider et Cie Canon de 85 mle 1927 and formed the basis for the Type 3 75 mm Tank Gun used in the Type 3 Chi-Nu tank. There isn’t a secondary armament (machine gun). This tank destroyer was built by Hitachi LTD from 1944, but, due the material shortage and bombin of Japan during the last months of WWII, only 31 or 44 units were completed before the end of the war.
It’s possible that this tank destroyer could be placed to tier 4/5 on World of Tank

il Type 3 Ho-Ni III è stato il terzo tentativo giapponese di costruire un cacciacarri / cannone d’assalto. Come l’Ho-Ni I e II, l’Ho-Ni III era basato sul telaio del Type 97 Chi-Ha carro medio. La caratteristica principale dell’Ho-NI III fu la casamatta completamente chiusa e corazzata. All’interno del della casamatta è stato installato un cannone 75 millimetri Type 90, che si è basava sul cannone francese Schneider et Cie Canon de 85 mle 1927 e costituì la base per il Type 3 75 mm utilizzato nel carro medio Type 3 Chi-Nu. L’Ho-Ni III non possedeva armamento secondario (mitragliatrice). Questo cacciacarri venne costruito dalla Hitachi Ltd a partire dal 1944, ma, a causa della mancanza di materiale e dei bombardamenti sul Giappone durante gli ultimi mesi della Seconda Guerra Mondiale, solo 31 o 44 unità sono state completate entro la fine della guerra.
