The ships of the Soviet destroyer branch used to be quite diverse at the beginning. As higher Tiers were partially represented by destroyer leaders, when upgrading, the player had to master alternative playstyles several times, which led to erratic development.
The historical chronology of the ships was also interrupted. This occurred due to the production capabilities and blueprints available at the time of the branch’s release. However, now we are ready to restore historical credibility and offer the players two alternatives, and, above all, a more logical and straightforward path of development.
The Main Branch
The changes start at Tier V, where one of the newcomers, the destroyer Podvoisky, appears. As the main branch has restored its chronology, now there is a linear increase in ship size and a more natural progression in terms of gameplay style. Starting with Tier VII, the branch is represented exclusively by destroyer leaders: large and fast ships, able to take part in the battle using cruiser-like artillery engagement.
The Alternative Branch
The destroyers Ognevoi and Udaloi leave the main branch of destroyers. Together with a representative of the 40N project, which will be called Grozovoi in the game, they will form an alternative branch. The playstyle of these ships will be closer to that of classic destroyers, and it will resemble German representatives of this type.
Thus, at Tier VII the player has a choice: stay within the original concept and upgrade the destroyer leaders, or go for the classic style for this type. Add that to a greater variety of tactical possibilities, as each branch will have its own set of equipment.
Of course, we will think over the most straightforward options to compensate all the players who had already upgraded the ships that changed their Tier. There will be no need at all to research and buy your favourite destroyers again!
