Controcarro 1 Mk. 2 (Italy, TD-9, drum for 4 shells, regular) went out late last night for the WOT supertest. Short name: CC-1 Mk. 2
It’s just the same TOP, only worse in terms of performance characteristics, and that’s all. Firepower is very mediocre at lvl 9.
** In the 1960s, the Italian company OTO Melara began work on a tank destroyer with a limited traverse turret. The development of advanced German tanks had a great influence on the project. Also, when creating self-propelled guns, it was planned to use structural elements of American and German vehicles. It was supposed to install a loading mechanism, which was successfully used in naval artillery. Another characteristic feature was the placement of the driver in the tower with limited horizontal guidance angles. The reason for the completion of work on tank destroyers was the dependence on the ideological progenitor. The cessation of work on the MBT-70 led to the closure of the preliminary design, which was never realized in metal.
** Negli anni ’60, la compagnia italiana OTO Melara iniziò a lavorare su un cacciacarri con torretta a rotazione limitata. Lo sviluppo di carri armati tedeschi avanzati ha avuto una grande influenza sul progetto.
