AAT60 – US tier 8 premium tank
The AAT60 is a premium American medium tank that will undergo testing in random mode by developers and supertesters in the upcoming update 1.23.1.
Historical references
This tank has a unique history and design. Joseph Williams and Clifford Bradley came up with the idea of the AAT60 in 1962. They wanted to create a vehicle with a compact crewed turret and a low-profile fighting compartment. The gunner was the only crew member who sat above the rest, right behind the gun. This way, they reduced the frontal area of the vehicle to the level of tanks with an unmanned turret. However, the AAT60 project never left the drawing board. Some of its features were later used in the M60A2, one of the most iconic tanks of the American tank industry.
