World of Tanks 1.23.1 – Pz.Kpfw. III Ausf. E: new changes
The Pz.Kpfw. III Ausf. E is a regular German light tank that underwent some changes in the new patch 1.23.1. It is a level 3 tank that has two chassis, two turrets, four guns, three engines, and three radios.
The changes affected the invisibility, the module repair cost, the load capacity, the dispersion, the armor penetration, the damage per minute, the specific power, and the power density of the tank. The invisibility of the vehicle in motion after a shot increased from 4.79% to 5.22%, which means it is harder to spot when moving and firing. The invisibility of the stationary vehicle after a shot also increased from 4.79% to 5.22%, which means it is harder to spot when standing still and firing. These changes made the tank more stealthy and survivable in the game.
New changes in details for patch 1.23.1
The module repair cost of the tank increased from 1,289 to 1,459, which means it is more expensive to fix the damaged modules. This change made the tank more costly to maintain and repair. The load capacity of the chassis 1/2 – Pz.Kpfw. III Ausf. D increased from 15,450 to 16,800, which means it can carry more weight. This change made the tank more flexible and adaptable to different modules.
Two guns were removed from the tank: the gun 2/2 – 2 cm Kw.K. 38 and the gun 4/4 – 2 cm Flak 38. These guns were low-caliber and low-damage guns that were not very effective in the game. The removal of these guns reduced the gun variety of the tank, but also simplified the research process. The remaining guns of the tank had some improvements in their dispersion, armor penetration, and damage per minute.
The dispersion per 100 m of the gun 1/2 – 3.7 cm Kw.K. 36 L/46.5 and the gun 1/4 – 3.7 cm Kw.K. 36 L/46.5 decreased from 0.44 to 0.41 and from 0.44 to 0.40, respectively. This means they are more accurate and reliable at long distances. The dispersion after shot of these guns also decreased from 4.00 to 3.00, which means they are more stable and consistent after firing. These changes improved the shooting performance of these guns.
The armor penetration of the 1 (AP) projectile and the 2 (APCS) projectile of these guns increased from 40 to 52 and from 74 to 80, respectively. The armor penetration of these projectiles at 500m also increased from 33 to 45 and from 36 to 45, respectively. This means they can penetrate more armor and deal more damage at any distance. The damage per minute of these projectiles also increased from 36 to 45, which means they can deal more damage in a shorter time. The average damage per minute of these projectiles also increased from 980 to 1,224, which means they can deal more damage over the course of a battle. These changes improved the damage output of these guns.
The damage of the 3 (HE) projectile of these guns increased from 42 to 60, which means they can deal more damage with high explosive shells. The average damage per minute of these projectiles also increased from 1,143 to 1,633, which means they can deal more damage over the course of a battle with high explosive shells. These changes improved the damage output of these guns with high explosive shells.
The specific power of the engine 1/3 – Maybach HL 108 TR and the engine 2/3 – Maybach HL 120 TR decreased from 19.80 to 19.20 and from 21.58 to 20.92, respectively. This means they have less power per ton and are less agile and fast. The power density of the engine 3/3 – Maybach HL 120 TRM also decreased from 27.13 to 26.30, which means it has less power per liter and is less efficient and reliable. These changes reduced the mobility and performance of these engines.
The radio 3/3 – FuG Spr. 1 did not have any changes in the new patch 1.23.1. It remained the same as before and did not affect the communication and signal range of the tank.
These changes made the Pz.Kpfw. III Ausf. E more effective and powerful in some aspects, but less effective and powerful in other aspects. The tank has higher invisibility, higher load capacity, higher dispersion, higher armor penetration, higher damage per minute, but lower module repair cost, lower gun variety, lower specific power, and lower power density than before. The tank may need some adjustments or buffs to make it more competitive and fun to play.
