Introducing the New Branch of Soviet Battleships in World of Warships RU
World of Warships RU 13.1 is about to add a second branch of USSR battleships to the game in the upcoming closed testing session. These ships are named after admirals Senyavin, Istomin, Kornilov and Lazarev, and they span from Tier VII to X.
The new Soviet battleships have powerful 406-mm main battery guns that fire AP shells with a high salvo weight. They also have a class-standard accuracy and reload time, making them reliable and effective. The number of main battery guns increases from eight at Tier VII to twelve at Tier IX and X. Moreover, the bow and stern turrets of the Tier X ship can rotate 360 degrees, giving it more flexibility and versatility.
The new Soviet battleships have some advantages that make them stand out from other battleships. They have low visibility, good maneuverability and speed, and a high level of protection against HE shells, thanks to their small and sturdy superstructures. They also have access to the Fast and the Furious consumable, which is uncommon for the class. This consumable boosts their speed and reload time, but it has a short duration.
However, the new Soviet battleships also have some drawbacks that balance their strengths. They have a small number of hit points, making them vulnerable to damage. They also have weak sides that can be easily penetrated by AP shells. They have a reduced number of Repair Team charges, limiting their ability to heal. And they have weak air defense, making them susceptible to airstrikes.
The new Soviet battleships have the standard Emergency Team consumable for the class, in addition to the Repair Team and the Fast and the Furious. They are expected to be available on western servers of World of Warships in the future.
“Admiral Senyavin”, a Tier VII Soviet Battleship
This ship is based on a project from 1921-22, when professor Goncharov and engineer Goinkis proposed several ways to modernize the unfinished battle cruiser Kinburn of the Izmail type. Their goal was to improve the design of the ship according to the experience of the World War, so that it would meet the requirements of the modern era. The main difference from the original project was the installation of two-gun turrets with 406 mm guns. In some options, they also planned to increase the armor. However, due to the lack of funds and the state of the industry at that time, the modernization never happened.

World of Warships RU: How the New Branch of Battleships Honors Famous Russian Admirals
World of Warships RU is introducing a new branch of battleships that were designed in Russia during the First World War. These battleships follow a long tradition of the Russian Navy, both Imperial and Soviet, of naming warships after famous Russian admirals. These admirals have made significant contributions to the history and glory of the Russian fleet.
One of the battleships of the new branch is named after Admiral Dmitry Senyavin (1763-1831), who was a brilliant naval commander and strategist. He led the Russian fleet to several decisive victories against the Turkish fleet in the Mediterranean and the Black Sea. He also captured many islands and fortresses from the Ottoman Empire.
Another battleship of the new branch is named after Admiral Mikhail Lazarev (1788-1851), who was a renowned explorer and naval hero. He discovered Antarctica and several islands in the Pacific Ocean. He also participated in the Battle of Navarino (1827), where he commanded the Russian squadron that helped defeat the Ottoman fleet and secure the independence of Greece.
A third battleship of the new branch is named after Admiral Vladimir Kornilov (1806-1854), who was a courageous and loyal defender of Sevastopol during the Crimean War. He fought bravely against the superior forces of the British and French fleets, and sacrificed his life for his homeland. He died along with his fellow admirals Pavel Nakhimov and Vladimir Istomin, who also have battleships named after them in the new branch.
The new branch of battleships pays tribute to these and other Russian admirals who have left a lasting legacy in the naval history of Russia. They also showcase the design and firepower of the battleships that were planned but never built in Russia during the First World War.
