World of Tanks supertest: SDP 40 Zadymka
The SDP 40 Zadymka is based on the chassis of the 7TP light tank, which was a Polish development of the British Vickers Mark E tank. The tank destroyer was designed in 1939, but never entered production due to the outbreak of World War II – this story isn’t confirmed by sources.
The SDP 40 Zadymka is a classic tank destroyer with a fixed superstructure and a powerful gun. The vehicle has a 90 mm top gun that can deal 240 damage per shot, with 150 mm of penetration with standard AP shells and 175 mm with premium APCR shells. The gun has a decent rate of fire of 7.5 rounds per minute, resulting in an average damage per minute of 2,100. The accuracy and aiming time of the gun are also good, at 0.36 and 1.9 seconds respectively.
The tank destroyer has a low profile and a good camouflage value, which allows it to stay hidden from the enemy. The vehicle also has a good view range of 360 meters, which helps it spot its targets. However, the SDP 40 Zadymka also has some drawbacks, such as low mobility, weak armor, and limited gun traverse. The vehicle has a top speed of only 35 km/h and a power-to-weight ratio of 11.4 hp/ton, which makes it slow and sluggish. The armor of the tank destroyer is also thin, with only 30 mm of frontal armor and 15 mm of side and rear armor. The gun traverse is also limited to 10 degrees on each side, which means that the vehicle has to turn its hull to aim at different targets.
The SDP 40 Zadymka is a tank destroyer that relies on its gun and camouflage to deal damage from a distance. The vehicle is suitable for players who like to snipe and support their allies from the back lines. However, the tank destroyer also requires good positioning and map awareness, as it is vulnerable to flanking and artillery fire. The SDP 40 Zadymka is a promising start for the new branch of Polish tank destroyers, and we are looking forward to seeing how it performs on the supertest server.
