Meet Danylo: The Visionary Behind Project CW’s Game Design
Who Am I?
I’m Danylo, the Lead Game Designer steering the creative helm of Project CW. My journey began as a Beta Tester for WoT, evolving into a Video Blogger passionate about the game. My fascination with military vehicles and their storied past has been a constant, fueled by games centered on WW2. Remember Faces of War from 2006? That title further ignited my enthusiasm for military machinery. Before taking on Project CW, I honed my skills on WoT, concentrating on fresh vehicles, innovative game mechanics, and more.
What’s My Role?
Assembling the intricate puzzle of game design, I ensure every mechanic and system syncs flawlessly, from core gameplay to player progression. It’s a collaborative dance with the Design Team, Engineers, Artists, and more—no one crafts a game in isolation. Take our new Hero concept: it begins with a spark of an idea, defining its uniqueness. Sometimes, we sketch out mechanics like firing modes and abilities before selecting the perfect vehicle. Other times, a distinctive vehicle inspires us, already equipped with a unique arsenal or ability potential.
Typically, it’s this synergy that births characters like Ray and Punch. The Tanks Team pours their talent into both 3D and 2D concepts, ensuring our vehicles are as cool as they are credible. But ideas alone don’t drive innovation—it’s about bringing them to life through prototyping and rigorous in-game testing, often extending beyond our team to include player feedback.
What Do I Love Most?
Crafting new experiences and witnessing the joy they bring to players is what fuels my creativity. Game design isn’t just a job; it’s about sculpting a universe of possibilities that gamers can explore.
And the Toughest Challenge?
Navigating the uncertainties of Game Development and Design is no small feat. It’s a realm filled with unknowns, and not everyone thrives in such an environment. The outcome is never guaranteed, which explains the prevalence of sequels and remakes in games and films. Venturing into uncharted territory is daunting, yet thrilling.
My Go-To Agent?
While I don’t play favorites, each agent offers a unique flavor of fun. Aesthetically, Chopper (Abrams), Ray (ATR-EDS), and Fantome (Leopard 2FK) stand out with their distinctive styles.
