World of Tanks is getting ready for the first update of 2024, Update 1.24, which will bring you exciting new features and improvements.
You will be able to explore the Maneuvers clan event, which has been enhanced based on your feedback. You will also be able to dive into the spring Season of Battle Pass, which has some changes and surprises for you. Let’s roll!
What’s New in the Battle Pass Season
The spring Season of Battle Pass is coming soon to the live server. This is the first Season of Battle Pass in 2024, and it will offer you the same core mechanics that you know and love. However, we have also made some modifications to make it more fun and rewarding.
One of the changes is that you can now earn Battle Pass Points in Random Battles with Tier IV–X vehicles. This means that you have more options and flexibility to progress through the Season. You don’t have to stick to the current Tier VI–X vehicles anymore.
Another change is that we have updated the list of items that you can buy with Battle Pass Points in the in-game Store. These items are available after you complete the three main Chapters of the Season. They include various 2D customizations from previous Seasons, which will enhance the cool factor of your vehicles.
There is more news about the upcoming Season, but we won’t spoil it for you. Stay tuned for more updates and get ready for the spring Season of Battle Pass!
How to Enjoy the Improved Maneuvers Event
Maneuvers is a clan event that lets you compete with other clans for fame and glory. You can win personal and clan Fame Points, which you can use to buy exclusive rewards. You can also participate in a bond auction and bid for formidable Tier X reward vehicles.
The Maneuvers event will be accessible throughout the Common Test of Update 1.24. However, not all the event features will be available at once. Different features will be introduced across the various iterations of the Common Test. The general battle mechanics will be available from the first test, while the Fame Points shop and bond auction will be available in later launches of the Common Test.
If you are not a member of a clan yet, you can join one on the Common Test and experience all the upcoming changes. The Maneuvers event will start shortly after the release of Update 1.24. The progression system and core rules of the event will be the same as in the previous launch, but we have also made some improvements based on your feedback.
One of the improvements is the bond auction. If you took part in the event but didn’t secure a spot on the Leaderboard due to insufficient personal Fame Points, you can still join the bond auction and place your bids. The top auction bidders will receive Tier X reward vehicles, which are already finalized.
Here is the list of these steel predators:
- X 116-F3
- X Carro da Combattimento 45 t
- X Object 907
- X VK 72.01 (K)
- X 121B
- X T95E6
Another improvement is the interface. Devs have made it easier for you to bring destroyed vehicles back to action. You can now do it directly from the battle room interface, where your team is already assembled. You don’t have to navigate to the event interface to repair and unlock your vehicles before jumping into a new battle.
Devs have also changed the battle mode. Instead of Standard Battles, you will now fight in Encounter Battles. They will still be fought in the 7v7 format, using any Tier X vehicles. This will add more variety and challenge to your battles.
Finally, devs have increased the personal Fame Points for the first victory of the day in a new vehicle. This bonus applies when you meet the battle conditions, but it doesn’t apply in subsequent battles with the same vehicle. This means that you can speed up your progress and earn more Fame Points by changing vehicles. You can get additional Fame Points from each Tier X vehicle in your Garage!
Event Mechanics Recap
In Maneuvers, victories are very rewarding. First, the winning side gets almost all the spoils. Second, each victory of every team in your clan contributes to your clan’s Progression. After a certain number of wins, you move on to the next Stage, where each battle brings more personal and clan Fame Points.
Losses and draws do not affect your Stage progress. Players on the losing team will only receive personal Fame Points for battles in which their side destroyed at least two enemy vehicles.
Devs will provide more details about the upcoming Maneuvers event and the finalized reward pool in a dedicated article later.
To help you prepare for Maneuvers, developers have also changed the format of Skirmishes in Strongholds. Starting from February 9, the format will be replaced by an event format (7v7 Encounter mode, with the base capture time for one vehicle set to 100 seconds).

How to Join the Common Test of World of Tanks
Do you want to participate in the Common Test of the next update of World of Tanks? If you are a World of Tanks player, you can join the Common Test and test the new features and changes before they go live.
To join the Common Test, you need three things:
- A Wargaming.net Game Center (WGC) account. This is the official launcher for World of Tanks and other Wargaming games. You can download it for free from the official website.
- A Common Test game client. This is a separate version of World of Tanks that runs on a different server. You can download it for free from the link below.
- An active World of Tanks account. This is the same account that you use to play the live version of World of Tanks. You don’t need to create a new account for the Common Test.
The Common Test game client gives you access to a Common Test account, which has more resources than your live account. You can use these resources to try out the new features and changes without any restrictions.
Your Common Test account is a copy of your live account, but it doesn’t sync with it. Your progress on the Common Test server doesn’t affect your progress on the live server, and vice versa. Your live account was copied to the Common Test server on January 29, 2024, at 21:59 UTC. Any account changes after that date are not reflected on the Common Test server.
Here are the steps to download and install the Common Test game client:
- Click on the link to download the TEST CLIENT INSTALLER.
- Run the test client installer on your computer.
- Choose a different installation folder from where your regular World of Tanks game files are. This will prevent any conflicts or errors.
- Select the freshly installed test client from the drop-down menu at the top of the WGC.
- Roll out and enjoy the Common Test of World of Tanks!
Don’t forget to pass on your feedback about the Common Test. Your feedback helps us improve the game and make it more fun for everyone.
