New Appearance Elements: 3D Objects in World of Tanks (WOT)
World of Tanks introduces a new level of vehicle personalization with the addition of 3D objects. These decorative exterior elements can be installed in special slots on select vehicles and combined with any 2D styles and other 2D elements. The list of compatible vehicles will expand over time, with the first 3D objects available during the New Year Offensive 2025.
What are 3D Objects?
3D objects are decorative elements that can be installed on vehicles with corresponding slots. Each vehicle supporting 3D objects has several slots, allowing for customization. These objects are compatible with any 2D styles, camouflage schemes, paints, decals, and inscriptions in the Depot. The only elements incompatible with 3D objects are 3D styles. The number of available 3D objects will increase in the future.
Slot Types:
There are three types of slots for 3D objects:
- Special Slot 1: Located in the turret or gun mantlet.
- Special Slot 2: Located in the turret or cabin.
- Universal Slots: Located in the vehicle hull.
The first vehicles compatible with 3D objects have five slots, but this number may vary in the future due to the variety of tank shapes and sizes.
Available Vehicles:
Once added to the game, 3D objects can be installed on dozens of vehicles. The initial list includes many popular high-tier tanks, and the number of compatible vehicles will increase over time.
Rarity and Sets:
3D objects come in three rarity categories, distinguished by colors:
- Rare: Basic objects that make your vehicle unique.
- Epic: More complex 3D objects, sometimes with visual effects.
- Legendary: The most impressive, often featuring unique visual and/or audio effects activated under special circumstances (e.g., at the beginning of a battle, after destroying an enemy).
New rarity categories may be added in the future.
3D objects will also be grouped into themed sets, several of which will be available during the 2025 New Year Offensive. These sets can be customized by combining different 3D objects to make your vehicle stand out.
Additionally, two new filters will be added to the vehicle carousel: one for selecting vehicles with 3D styles and another for vehicles that support 3D objects. The Non-historical filter will also allow you to toggle 3D objects on and off.
Managing 3D Objects:
Once 3D objects are added to the game, the Appearance screen interface will be updated. You will be able to try out 3D objects on vehicles in various combinations with 2D styles and other appearance elements you own.
