Exchange of Vehicle Branches: Get New Vehicles with Tech Tree Trade-in
Starting October 24, you can exchange vehicle branches in World of Tanks. Until October 28, you will be able to swap a researched vehicle branch for a new one with vehicles of tiers VI–X in just a few clicks!

Tech Tree Exchange: The Gist
You can cancel the research progress of Tier VI–X vehicles from a fully researched branch and immediately research Tier VI–X vehicles from any unresearched branch available for exchange. Each Tier VI–X vehicle you give away will be replaced with an equivalent from the newly selected branch.
- This is a paid operation. The exchange price is initially set in gold, but you can also use bonds, blueprint fragments, and free experience to reduce it, potentially to zero. All calculations will be visible in the Research Tree interface before confirming the exchange.
Tech Tree Exchange: The Interface
Access the main Tech Tree Exchange screen through the login window to the right of the vehicle panel. It will display the research branches available for exchange.
- After selecting the branches, the exchange price in gold will be displayed at the bottom left of the screen. The tiers involved in the exchange will be highlighted. The vehicles you are giving away will be crossed out, and those you are receiving will be checked.
- Clicking the Next button will take you to the next screen, where you can add Bonds, Universal and National Blueprint Fragments, and Free XP instead of gold.
- This way, you can reduce the exchange cost to zero. Note that the amount of Free XP and Universal and National Fragments you can spend is limited (10% of the gold cost for each type of resource). However, you can invest an unlimited amount of Bonds.
- Clicking the Next button again will take you to a screen with detailed information about the exchange (what will happen to vehicles, crews, equipment, field upgrades, accumulated XP, etc.). Clicking the Confirm button and then confirming your decision in the pop-up window will complete the exchange operation.
** The vehicle tree exchange operation is available only once and cannot be cancelled. Before making a decision, carefully study the target tree, the final cost of the operation in resources, and its impact on your vehicles, crews, equipment, etc.
Vehicle Tree Exchange: Basic Rules
- You can exchange vehicles from Tier VI to X only from a fully researched tree. Not all vehicle trees are available for exchange (newly introduced trees will not participate in the promotion).
- You can exchange fewer than five vehicle tiers if the target tree already contains researched vehicles of Tier VI and above. You can even exchange one vehicle (Tier X) if it is the only unresearched vehicle left in the target tree.
- The exchange cost varies depending on the number of vehicle tiers being exchanged and the difference in the amount of experience required to research each of them.
- You may have unresearched modules in the branch you are giving away. This will not increase the cost of the exchange.
- Modules from all vehicles being exchanged (including those in the Depot) will be written off and their research cancelled. All modules from the received vehicle will be researched and purchased.
- Equipment (including advanced and experimental), directives, consumables, customization elements, and ammunition from the exchanged vehicle will be removed and sent to the Depot for free.
- Field upgrade levels will be transferred to the new vehicle. They will not be picked up automatically. Instead, you will receive compensation in the form of credits, allowing you to choose modifications yourself.
- Crew members from the exchanged vehicle will become recruits of the corresponding nation. They can be transferred to another vehicle of the same nation without penalty. However, if a crew member has a penalty to skill efficiency, they will be sent to the Barracks. Each vehicle you receive comes with a 100% crew.
- All combat experience from the exchanged vehicle will be transferred to the Tier I vehicle of this game nation. Before exchanging, consider unlocking Field Upgrade modifications.
- All statistics, achievements, as well as Battle Pass point and bond earning limits for the exchanged vehicle will be retained.
- If the exchanged branch includes rental vehicles, they will be written off without compensation upon exchange. All elements related to this vehicle will be processed in accordance with the above conditions.
- Vehicles from the target branch will be credited without equipment, consumables, and ammunition.
- After the exchange, the collectible vehicles of the old nation will remain in your possession, even if the exchanged branch was the only one researched within this nation.
