WoT Roadmap 2024: Part 1 (February) – A Sneak Peek into the Future of WoT
World of Tanks is a game that features a variety of tanks from different nations and eras. You can engage in epic battles with other players, and customize your tanks with different modules, camouflages, and flags. In this article, we will give you an overview of the plans for the future of WoT, which include Czechoslovakian tanks with autocannons, vehicle rebalances, new Achievements, Combat Reconnaissance 2024 and much more. This is based on the first part of 2024, where Wargaming talks in more detail about its plans. We offer you a text version of the video.
Random Events 2024
Random events are dynamic scenarios that can occur on certain maps, and add more variety and excitement to the battles. We plan to add new scenarios to 6 maps in 2024, which are:
- Karelia
- Siegfried Line
- Malinovka
- Redshire
- Cliff
- Pilsen (this was ready in the first pack, but we decided to stretch it out)
Recon Missions 2024
Recon Missions are a new feature that continues the idea of random events. We want to test new ways for the player to interact with events, and have more influence on the outcome of the battle. The interactive environment in Combat Reconnaissance will allow players to more actively interact with various elements on the maps. You will be able to influence objects and adjust the environment to suit you. For example, you can activate bridges, gates, or traps to create new paths or block the enemy.
Arcade Cabinet (game mode)
Arcade Cabinet is a game mode that offers different fun and challenging scenarios for the players. There will be several launches during this year, which are:
- Night battles [have already happened]. This is a mode where you can fight in the dark, using night vision devices and infrared lamps.
- Overwhelming fire [has already happened]. This is a mode where you can use special shells that have increased damage and penetration, but also increased reload time and cost.
- Winter arcade in December 2024 [already happened]. This is a mode where you can enjoy the festive atmosphere and snow-covered maps, and use special consumables and skills.
- “Obstacle Course” [NEW]. This is a mode that is inspired by the fan mode and the Fall Guys game. This is a mode where you have to overcome various obstacles and reach the finish line, while avoiding the enemy fire and traps.
Czechoslovak light tanks with autocannons
We have already written everything about them earlier. These are new light tanks that will be armed with guns with automatic firing mode, which can fire several shells in a burst. They will have good mobility and camouflage, but weak armor and long reload time. They will be released in the second half of the year.
Rebalance of tanks
We are constantly working on improving the balance of the tanks in the game, and making them more competitive and enjoyable. In total, this year there will be 2 patches with rebalances, in spring and autumn.
Here are some of the changes that will happen in the spring patch:
NERF branches:
- Super Conqueror. This is a heavy tank that has a strong turret and a reliable gun, but it will have some nerfs to its armor and mobility.
- Controcarro 3 Minotauro. This is a tank destroyer that has a fast-firing autoloader and good camouflage, but it will have some nerfs to its armor and survivability.
BUFF branches:
- Pz.Kpfw. VII. This is a heavy tank that has a powerful gun and good frontal armor, but it will have some buffs to its performance and characteristics. We plan to make it not a tank for a narrow circle of connoisseurs, but a good tank for everyone.
- AMX 50 Foch B. This is a tank destroyer that has a fast-firing autoloader and good mobility, but it will have some buffs to its gun and protection.
Here are some of the changes that will happen in the autumn patch:
NERF branches:
- ??
- ??
BUFF branches:
- Bat.-Châtillon 25 t. This is a medium tank that has a fast-firing autoloader and good mobility, but it will receive some buffs to its gun and protection.
- ??
Crew 2024
We are preparing several crew updates again, to make the crew system more user-friendly and convenient. Changes to the skill system will happen later in 2024, but improvements in overall usability will happen in the spring. Here are some of the changes that you will notice:
- You will no longer have to increase the major qualification level of your crews. Instead, you will have a Crew efficiency bonus, which will show the effect of things like Brothers in Arms or Ventilation on your vehicle’s performance.
- You will be able to move any crew in a suitable tank, immediately unleashing the full potential of its characteristics. When transferring without retraining, you will no longer have a penalty to the dynamic characteristics of the vehicle. However, crew skills will be locked instead. With free retraining or credits, the skills will work but with reduced efficiency until the crew gains enough experience on the new vehicle. This system is much simpler and more player friendly.
- Clearing the Barracks. All crew members who do not have the experience to study the 1st skill will be 100% removed from the Barracks and compensated with Training Materials. The experience in them will be no less than that of the converted tankers. (The cleanup does not affect special crew members – collaborations, Prime Gaming, etc.).
New Achievements system
The new Achievements system will be an excellent assistant for a tanker, as it will help you track your progress and achievements in the game. At launch, the feature will have several sections:
- Equipment. All received equipment of different types (including rare vehicles) will be displayed here.
- Nations. Your progress in leveling up nations in the game will be shown here.
- Change in appearance. All received customization elements will be shown here.
There will also be a list of game trophies earned in unique events, such as Battle Passes or special modes. For some Achievements, you will receive rewards: animated tokens. Each Achievement will add points to your overall progress, which will help you evaluate your overall success and compare it with your friends.
In the future, the Achievements system will cover many aspects of the game, but at the start, it will focus on the most important thing – tanks.
WoT Plus subscription
The WoT Plus subscription will be a new feature that will offer you some benefits and bonuses in the game, such as increased credits and experience, discounts, and more. The subscription will have a trial (free) period with all its benefits, so you can try it out and see if you like it.
New Battle Pass Tanks
Two new Tier IX special vehicles will be available in the Battle Pass Store. The TT-130 is a Czechoslovakian heavy tank with jet boosters, which can give it a burst of speed and maneuverability. You’ll be able to accumulate Tokens for it, starting in the first Season. And the new main Annual Reward, TS-60, is a turreted tank destroyer with high damage per minute, which can deal consistent damage to its enemies.
About the Battle Passes: The first one is actually happening in March, and it will offer you some rewards and challenges in the game. The next one will be in June, dedicated to D-Day, an 80th anniversary that is actually happening this year. So we will have a dedicated Battle Pass chapter as part of the history, covering a lot of different beats regarding the D-Day or Normandy campaign. And we have a last one towards the end of the year, which is related to a very famous game mode, and we have something really, really good cooking.
“All these changes will be released within 12 months.”
We hope you enjoyed this overview of the plans for the future of WoT. Stay tuned for more updates and news on World of Tanks.

Awesome, I don’t play much but looking forward to trying out that Battle Pass. I hope this Pass is good for low tiers too, which I mainly play. Keep up the good work.👍🎯💥
