Plate armor, which appeared at the end of the 14th century, is the pinnacle of the blacksmithing skill of the medieval industry. This protective kit covered virtually the entire body of a warrior; only the joints of the plates were considered relatively vulnerable. The mass of such armor could be 30 kilograms, and the cost was sometimes comparable to the cost of an entire village.
