The name BUGI comes from the first letters of the names of the designers who worked on this project (Bujnowicz, Ulrych, Grabski, Iwanicki). The authors were based on the concept of the KSUS II medium tank, but the new tank was supposed to have a single turret design. The project was submitted for consideration at the conference in Grudziadze at the turn of 1938-1939. Already in May 1939, the project was finalized at the Training Center for Armored Forces in Modlin. In mid-August 1939, the team presented sketches and the concept of the tank, however, in connection with the outbreak of World War II, all work was terminated.
