In 1943, the National Revolutionary Army of China received from the US 48 light tanks of the types M3A3 and M5A1 under the Lend-Lease contract. Some of them became the trophies of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army. After the Civil War, there was a need to increase the firepower of these tanks. A thought was the option to install Soviet guns, however, after the Soviets supplied T-34-85 tanks, the draft has lost its significance. It was not built.
