Historical Reference: E 77, an unnamed Heavy Tank Project
E77 (Germany, Heavy Tank, tier 9, premium): the fruit of German heavy tank lines…
An unnamed project for a heavy tank emerged as an alternative to the E series. The design aimed to incorporate several innovative features, including a compact gas turbine engine, a rear-mounted transmission, and the use of casting for turret production. These combined efforts were intended to reduce the combat weight of the vehicle while allowing for the installation of a more powerful gun. According to reports from the Soviet commission working in Germany after World War II, German designers actively explored mechanized loading as well project. Unfortunately, the war’s end halted many developments, including this unnamed project that could have posed a significant threat to the new generation of Soviet tanks.
