Developed by the French company Batignolles-Châtillon for the Egyptian army. The tank was a deep modernization of the American tank M4 Sherman. In the manufacture of the first tanks, the hull and chassis of the M4A1 and the FL 10 tower of the French AMX 13 tank were used; however, most of the machines used the hull and chassis of the M4A4 tank. All were released about 50 tanks, which were in service with the Egyptian army until the mid 60s.
